The Brief

This new kitchen was the culmination of a two year project to extend a small bungalow, but the wait was most certainly worth it for the clients. Top of their wish list was a large island, which has quickly become the focal point of the room, creating a functional yet sociable layout for everyday family living.  Painted alabaster cabinetry teamed with black granite worktops is a classic combination that will stand the test of time.

Designer's Tips

The extension has created a light, open space that is very much the key family room in this home.  To maximise the social element of the new kitchen there’s informal seating under one of the windows as well as on the central island.
