The clients wanted a warm, relaxing kitchen that flowed into the living space. This was achieved by using a lovely mix of oak and painted alabaster cabinetry throughout. A curved breakfast bar and gently radiused ends to the cabinetry helped the flow and also broke up the lines of the somewhat narrow room. To avoid the kitchen looking to cramped tall housings were avoided and instead a mix of cabinet levels enhanced the sense of space and added a bespoke feel to the design.
The clients wanted to fit in a large amount of storage in the kitchen so there’s a considered mix of cupboards, drawers and an open wine rack. The chosen height for the ovens is 300mm raised from the floor, this not only improves the ease of access but still maintains usable worktop space above.
