The clients decided on a kitchen-diner arrangement with a separating peninsula to break up the space and give definition between the two zones. They particularly wanted to have occasional, more informal seating so the peninsula was perfect to fulfil this need. The overall look and feel of the design is classic with the timeless combination of Shaker oak doors and black granite. However, a more contemporary edge was added with the stainless steel range cooker and appliances.
It’s great to inject a modern twist to a classic design, whether this is with a contemporary material such as stainless steel or introducing glass, as with the splashback behind the hob in this design. A tailored dresser arrangement was designed to house wicker baskets and the clients’ coffee machine and microwave, which were all essentials in the scheme.
