The brief was to change a fairly awkward shaped separate kitchen and dining space into a larger kitchen-diner with lots of natural light, creating a kitchen that offers both function and form. The clients, a working couple, wanted an oak kitchen with character but with a contemporary edge. The Broadoak Natural door, combined with long bar handles and a light quartz worktop, created exactly the look they wanted to achieve.
Typically many magazine feature kitchens shots of oak kitchens mixed with darker worktops, however oak looks equally effective when teamed with lighter surfaces, such as tones of cream and beige. This not only brings out the warmth of the natural timber but enhances the sense of space.
