The clients wanted their kitchen, which formed part of a new wrap-around extension, to incorporate a blend of colours in a classic style but designed for modern living. They opted for the Broadoak painted range and chose a mix of alabaster with rich copse green for a stunning contrast. Key requirements of the brief included plenty of worktop space, modern fast and efficient appliances as well as a large bar-stool seating area whilst leaving adequate space for a large dining table and a soft-seating area.
The clients were keen to have a mix of colours and the cabinetry looks beautiful in the two-tone scheme, however it’s important not to introduce too many colours so the flooring and quartz worktops are very much complimentary to the scheme. This ensures the visual aspect does not become too busy or overwhelmed with too many colours. Being an open-plan layout it is important to group and zone the key areas together – cooking, storage, washing and preparation and serving, resulting in a space that both functions and looks really well on all levels.
