The Brief
Sleek lines and a seamless aesthetic were the key elements of this brief. The project involved moving walls to create the stunning open-plan living space. The designer recommended installing French doors to bring in lots of natural light, which is enhanced by the clever lighting scheme in the kitchen, with a mix of LED plinth and task lighting. The Inzo gloss doors are contemporary and clean with the graphite finish being very much on trend in the colour stakes but also timeless. The living area is cleverly linked by the media centre, plus some low level units that have been used to create a comfortable seating area.
Designer's Tips
To keep the lines clean, and the surfaces clutter free, the microwave is hidden out of sight behind the island and a Franke hot water tap means there’s no need for a kettle on the worktop. Corian solid surface is used for the worksurfaces, end panels and splashback creating a cohesive and sophisticated look. Blue features as an accent colour in the kitchen, with the pendant lights adding a focal point, with the blue soft furnishings co-ordinating perfectly, effortlessly uniting the kitchen and living areas.
