The Brief

The clients inherited a dark and dated kitchen which prompted them to update the design with a much lighter and fresh design but also to extend the property to create a much larger room. The Milbourne Alabaster range was chosen for its timeless, modern-country feel but with the inherent versatility of blending with a wide palette of materials and finishes. The painted cabinetry contrasts beautiful with the rich walnut-effect worktops, which add instant warmth to the scheme.

Designer's Tips

The large American style fridge/freezer and range cooker were key statement features in the design.  Stainless steel can have a harsh feel so to soften the lines, the designer suggested curved cabinets, either side of the range, and these work to great effect. There’s a great mix of storage options in the design, from drawers and larder cabinets through to glazed feature back-lit units for display.
