The Brief

The clients had recently moved to their new flat and were keen to create a larger and more sociable kitchen space. Knocking down a partition wall opened up new possibilities to what was previously a small kitchen. Their taste was for an elegant and sophisticated design and they chose painted almond furniture in the Milbourne range and teamed this with caramel quartz worktops .  Symmetry was key to the overall scheme and the designer has created a very balanced design for a harmonious ambience.

Designer's Tips

To subtly differentiate the preparation and dining elements of the island the designer recommended a split-level design which the clients are delighted with. Incorporating the external curves on the island not only enhances the functionality of the worktop space but adds further interest to the design
