The setting for our client’s new kitchen was an old barn conversion so we needed to be sympathetic to that era whilst updating the design to suit our client’s modern needs. The kitchen is large and required a large island that was softened by curves to allow a free-flowing feeling and ease of access for a wheelchair too. The customer loves cake making, so we included a pop-up socket on the island to allow for the use of mixers and blenders.
We used as many drawers as possible as the customers are elderly and struggle to bend down and crawl to the back of units. We also suggested the curved units to allow the use of wheelchairs in the future.
