The Brief
The clients, a retired couple, had been waiting for a new kitchen for a number of years so they spent time making sure it was exactly right. They opted for the Milton oak and painted cabinetry, which really suited the traditional architecture of the house, complementing the oak beams, log burner and open brickwork.
Designer's Tips
Using charcoal sparingly and with consideration works really well as an accent colour. The room is quite an awkward shape, with a long area towards the dining space but by introducing the painted furniture at the other side of the stove it links the kitchen and dining zones together.
