The Brief
An extension created space for the clients to create an open-plan space to lead out to their garden. With a clear brief of how they wanted the room to work visually and functionally, the clients had decided on a dark charcoal as a key colour for the scheme with the cabinetry to be classic but with a modern twist. The Milton in-frame range, coupled with a contemporary blend of other colours and materials delivers all of this. Vivid green was chosen for an accent colour and creates a dramatic contrast to the charcoal units and fresh white worktops.
Designer's Tips
A strong social element was key to the clients’ brief, with a seating arrangement to accommodate 6 around the island. They also wanted to have an inside-out feel to this kitchen where the boundary between the outdoors and interior was blurred – with the doors opening out to the garden, coupled with the green accent colour linking with nature this has certainly been achieved.
