The room is a quirky shape so demanded some careful consideration to maximise the space and achieve everything the clients wanted from it. As well as being extremely functional the room doubles up as the main dining area so had to have an easy-living feel. They opted for alabaster, which is light but has a warmer feel than white and teamed this with walnut worktops for contrast.
Although the clients were keen to keep the colour scheme neutral they weren’t adverse to having a splash of colour as an accent. So a vivid red splashback injects some character to the scheme and this is complemented with the red bar stools around the island.
