The Brief

A small traditional kitchen was generously extended by the home owners, creating a more spacious  open-plan room. The brief was to design a contemporary kitchen that would become the hub of the home, where family and friends could gather. Cooking is an important part of the family’s life so an impressive bank of ovens offers a multitude of options, complemented by a large induction hob and gas Wok Domino. These are positioned in a peninsular that extends into the room.

Designer's Tips

Curved units on the peninsular incorporate a seating area for relaxation and create a natural flow through the room. Multiple ovens in large tall housings can be over-powering so mid-height options have been used to enhance the sense of space, whilst still maintaining a comfortable height for the appliances. If it’s not possible to fit a vented ceiling extractor a downdraft extractor, installed below the worktop and rising from the surface when required, is a great solution.
