The clients’ original kitchen, an oak Shaker, felt dark and restricted, with a somewhat disjointed layout. The brief for the new kitchen was for a much more social ambience and functional living space. By adding an extension to the rear of the property, and removing an existing wall between the dining room and kitchen, the designer was able to achieve this. The glossy light tone of the Porter Beige range was chosen for its sleek modern lines and space-enhancing qualities.
The island unites form and function, with its distinctive circular section adding interest, whilst the design is very practical with plenty of clear worktop for prepping and a seating area too. The clients liked the idea of a contrasting colour so wenge accents were added to the design.
