Our clients wanted to transform their kitchen into a bright, practical space that would be perfect for living, cooking and entertaining. The couple specifically wanted a dresser to store crockery and glassware, an American fridge/freezer to store all of their food in one area and a place to share a cup of coffee or a bite to eat.
The previous kitchen had felt dis-jointed, with the hob and oven in an awkward place. The colour scheme had also been dark, with wooden cabinetry and deep worktops. We decided to introduce a bright and cheerful colour scheme to bring life to the room. We love the bold choice of Chalk Blue for the larder and dresser units, which pairs perfectly with the elegant shade of Partridge Grey on the wall units and the peninsular. The sleek Carrara Quartz worksurface also helps to bring light to the space and creates a beautiful focal point as part of the Chalk Blue dresser.
At first, our customers wanted an island as part of their kitchen design. However, this wouldn’t have been practical for the shape and size of the room, so we helped to create a peninsular to provide the dining and relaxing seating area they were looking for. Although islands can be beautiful, sometimes a peninsular with a breakfast bar can be just as effective, leaving more floor space to make a kitchen feel larger, whilst providing most of the practicalities and benefits of an island.
