The Brief

The family of four wanted to create modern, minimal style in their new kitchen. Their previous kitchen worked on a practical level but was very dated and not in keeping with the rest of the interior décor throughout the home.  Enhancing the sense of space was key so they opted for Porter White cabinetry, which achieves the fresh linear look they desired.  The white quartz worktops add to the contemporary feel and are both durable and practical for a family kitchen.

Designer's Tips

Don’t be afraid about having both the furniture and worksurfaces the same colour. It creates a cohesive look and splashes of colour can be added with accessories and wall paint, which has the benefit of being affordable to update at any time. In this design the u-shape layout is very ergonomic with the peninusula doubling up as extra prep space and somewhere to socialise and dine.
