The Brief
This kitchen is fitted into an extension to a modern home and replaces a traditional cathedral oak design, so there’s been a major transformation, which the clients love. They were immediately drawn to the ebony-effect gloss in the showroom but didn’t want to overpower the room with zebrano. A mix and match approach was adopted with the gloss white being the dominant colour and the result is a slick, clean cut look that has the wow-factor but with timeless appeal.
Designer's Tips
Adding an accent area in a contrasting colour or pattern can inject a sense of drama to the interior, especially if combined with curved cabinetry for a bespoke feel. Opting for a brightly coloured glass splashback adds colour which in this project has been echoed in other areas of the room, such as the blinds and wall-covering in the dining area.
