The Brief

Congratulations to Pennwood Kitchens in Wolverhampton who pulled out all the stops to donate and create an inspirational yet very practical kitchen for BBC 1’s DIY SOS Big Build for Children In Need. Refurbishing Liverpool’s Norris Green Youth Centre was the program’s biggest community project to date. Second Nature donated Avant Ebony and White doors, which Pennwood combined to great effect, resulting in a bright, modern space where the children can learn vital cookery and life skills.

Designer's Tips

Pennwood kept the scheme modern and fresh resulting in a funky and functional space where the children can learn vital cookery and life skills.  Around 50 youngsters attend the centre every day of the week so the benefits of the work that Pennwood have put into this project cannot be underestimated. Their involvement and contribution will make a real difference to the children who visit the centre.
