The Brief

The original kitchen had served its time and was in need of updating and remodelling. An ultra-modern look was the main requirement so the combination of white gloss ebony-effect feature door certainly achieved this goal. Being a keen cook, the existing appliances had been inadequate and were replaced with eye-level combination microwave and steam oven and 5-burner gas hob. The design includes a long run of worksurface suitable for preparation.

Designer's Tips

Make a kitchen a more sociable space with an informal dining area. In this kitchen a small, curved breakfast bar extends into the kitchen and also doubles up as extra preparation space.  Add a really modern feel with contrasting cabinetry, the blocks of ebony make two focal points in the design, with the ebony plinths neatly wrapping around the base of the white units.
