The Brief

The clients asked for a contemporary design for their new open plan kitchen extension and immediately loved the crisp lines of the handle-less Remo Beige.  This was accentuated with chunky 60mm quartz worksurfaces on the island and a reflective denim blue glass splashback as a real statement feature. The brief also requested ample storage, combined with large cooling and cooking capacity to cope with entertaining large gatherings of friends and family. The island features bar seating for four and includes wide pan drawers plus additional storage within the knee recess.

Designer's Tips

The key to large open plan spaces is getting the ergonomics right and keeping the main areas zoned and all within a reasonable distance of each other. This project also has incredible high ceilings and the mixed height tall and wall units add interest to the overall scheme. The island extraction above the extra wide induction hob allows for a clear line of sight and the construction enabled additional task lighting to be positioned above the island. Storage is catered for within the range of cabinetry and drawers throughout the space, and the Le Mans allows for easy corner access.
