With a growing family, the clients needed more space so built an extension to create a larger, more practical kitchen. Their previous kitchen was not only small but was very dark so injecting light into the room was a key priority. The brief was for a modern-styled interior that would stand the test of time, so the simple handless design or Remo, in a neutral dove grey, was a perfect choice. Solid, practical worktops were essential for this busy family kitchen and the clients are delighted with the great looks and easy maintenance of the Silestone quartz surfaces.
Initially the clients were set on a range cooker, but the designer recommended eye-level cooking appliances, which have proved more ergonomic and in keeping with the design. Likewise, an island was a must-have but it was not really practical given the space, but a peninsular with seating has proved to be a great alternative.
