The property, a new build, had the luxury of a large space for the kitchen so the clients chose to create an open room with kitchen, living and dining all in one. The kitchen, therefore, had to be striking as it is on permanent display with plenty of hidden storage to keep the lines clean and uncluttered. Opting for the glossy Remo White cabinetry, the clients chose to frame the furniture in a contrasting wenge to add warmth to the scheme.
The worktops are Corian and the designer recommended using contrasting finishes on the island. This cleverly distinguishes between the preparation and dining zones, whilst adding visual impact to the design. A host of smart storage solutions are integrated, from capacious pull-out larders to deep drawers. There’s also handy scales inset in to the worktops.Although designed with access in mind there is no compromise on the visual appeal of this kitchen. The classic scheme of black and white is given a contemporary edge with the vivid splash of green on the wall tiles.
