The kitchen is set in a new-build family home. The clients wanted their new kitchen to be modern and practical, with plenty of wow factor. The kitchen is part of a large open-plan living space so the focus of the room is very sociable. The designer recommended the Remo White handleless range, in a high gloss finish, to create the contemporary feel, but to ensure the look wasn’t too clinical black mirror quartz worktops deliver a stunning contrast. A bespoke oak table top and chopping area inject warmth to the scheme. The island is very much the hub of the room, both from a practical aspect and also being the magnet that draws everyone together.
Extraction was a potential issue with the vaulted ceiling, however this was overcome with a downdraft extractor in the island to duct under the floor to the outside. The design offers plenty of interesting features, from the glazed wall units and open shelves to the gently curved corner cabinetry. There’s ample storage in this layout, including a pantry plus wine and spice racks.
